The Ace Academy is a practical film training initiative operated by The Ace Effect LTD, a company registered in England and Wales.

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to The Ace Effect LTD acting as data controller for The Ace Academy.

When you register your interest through The Ace Academy website, we collect:

• First name
• Email address
• Age range (16–18, 19–21, 22–25, or 26+)
• Location (Luton, elsewhere in the UK, or outside the UK)
• Areas of interest (acting, directing, producing, writing, camera, other)
• The date and time you gave consent
• The page from which you registered (source page)

We do not collect sensitive personal data, payment information, or data from children under 16.

We collect this information to:

• Manage your registration of interest in The Ace Academy
• Send you updates about workshops, online sessions and opportunities from The Ace Academy — but only where you have given explicit consent
• Understand the geographic and demographic interest in the Academy to help us plan our programmes

The legal basis for processing your data is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing from our emails or contacting us at privacy@theaceeffect.com.

We use Mailchimp (operated by The Rocket Science Group LLC, a Intuit company) as our email marketing platform. When you register your interest, your name, email address, age range, location, areas of interest, consent date and source page are stored in a dedicated Ace Academy audience in Mailchimp.

Mailchimp processes data on our behalf as a data processor under a Data Processing Agreement. Mailchimp may transfer data outside the UK; they rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for such transfers. You can review Mailchimp's privacy practices at mailchimp.com/legal/privacy.

We will retain your registration information for as long as you remain subscribed to Ace Academy communications, or for up to 3 years from the date of registration — whichever comes first.

If you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, we will suppress your email address to prevent further contact but may retain a minimal record of your consent and unsubscribe action for compliance purposes.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

• Mailchimp — as our email platform (see above)
• Any party where we are legally required to disclose information

We will not share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

The Ace Academy website currently uses only essential cookies necessary for the site to function. We do not use advertising pixels, behavioural tracking, or cross-site tracking cookies.
